The first true photo adventure of the year!

28 May 2026

Hey all! Getting back into the swing of things, both with blog articles and going out and taking photos. It’s been a good while since I’ve gone out to take photos, but I needed some photos up at UWO so it was the perfect opportunity. I packed up of stuff, went to the local camera store to pick up camera cleaning supplies (and to get my camera cleaned), then headed out!

When I headed out on my way to UWO, I was kinda just going straight there before the library closed so I could get the photos I needed, while keeping note in my head all the cool shots and framing of things along the way.

Historically I’ve never been too much of a fan of the UWO campus, and I’ve always found all the buildings to look to similar, with their grey 1800s campus buildings, with limited buildings with any more modern design. I was proved wrong recently when I was on campus to go to the library, which was an interesting ands striking brutalist building that stuck amongst the many old-fashioned buildings that surrounded it. Maybe had I got in to UWO I would take some time to adventure around some more getting more pictures, but that can wait for a later date.

Anyway, I’ve been blabbering on for longer than I expected, so without further ado, here are my favourite photos of today’s ride!

I’ve always enjoyed seeing more fun and unique graffiti, so I’ve equally enjoyed getting to take photos of the ones that catch my eye the most. I mean hell, some of the photos I’m most proud of are of graffiti, such as that trio above, or a photo I took last fall of something a little more subtle.

Another sort of “genre” of photo I enjoy taking are nature photos like these, though I’m not quite as good with them yet. The ones of the pink tree are nice, and would make a nice wallpaper if pink was the theme I was going for. That photo of the purple flower within the bushes though is one I’m certainly proud of. Something about the simplicity, the depth of field, and just how sharp it turned out makes me so happy. I’m not even sure if I can think of somewhere to use it, but I’m still super happy to have taken it.

That about does it for the first photo dump of the year, with hopefully many to come in the future! I leave you all with this final photo I took while at UWO that is eerie and a completely different vibe to the rest of them.
